Green River was about 150 riders, a week in Utah, and a 60-foot drop. Balloon Fiesta was 500 drones, a 4:30 call, and two shows a night for three days. Different jobs. Both needed the same three things before anyone flew: a place, a window, and a clear picture of what belongs in the frame. That is what the five steps below ask you for. Bring a deck if you have one, a rough idea if you don’t. The filter isn’t budget; it’s whether you know what you want. You get a rig list, the crew we’d bring, and a number inside two business days.

A hard deadline if you have one. If the shot depends on weather, give us the month rather than the day. We plan two windows, because the first one sometimes gets blown out and we would rather say that now than the morning of.

Your brief is in the queue and Kaegan reads it himself. The reply is usually a longer version of what he says on set: “Cool, got it. I can fly into this, I can fly out of that, here’s your shot.” It lands with a rig list, the crew we’d bring, and a number. If it’s urgent, same week or sooner, say so at the top and it comes back the same day.

Balloon Fiesta went out for a $1,200 pilot fee. It was worth more than that, and the floors below are what a day costs now. Pick a rig, a day length, and a crew to see the starting number. Rented cinema bodies, travel, and multi-day rates get added on the brief, not here.

What you’ll receive.

Reply, deliverable, deposit, hold. On the table before the flight. One more thing worth saying up front: sometimes the honest reply is that a drone is the wrong tool for the shot, or that the month you picked is the wrong month for that valley. That goes in the same email as the number.
