Sanctioned drift event, 2021. Custom 5-inch FPV on the ground with the cars. Ground-level pursuit, sustained chase, no gimbal — this was before the single-axis rig came online as the daily driver.
The brief was the chase. Drift cars on a closed course move differently than a bike on a hill: the lines are committed, the timing is predictable, the angles you want are the ones the driver is already setting up. The job is to read the entry, get on the door, and stay there through the transition without spooking the lane.
Specific event location, run count, and driver names [confirm]. What's true regardless: a closed course is where you learn to sit on a chase line at speed and let the subject do the storytelling. The car carries the shot. The pilot just has to keep the camera where it belongs.
